Hello Everyone,
I am wondering if there is a source for 16ga Hevishot loads besides rolling my own? Anyone have a suggestion on where to buy such ammo?
Thanks.

You may have noticed that Hevi-shot is less expensive than Bismuth--- And Hevi-shot is available in a wider variety of shot sizes.
Just a thought: are there enough 16'ers to bankroll a buyout of the Bismuth Cartridge Company? |

I second that emotion, my brother! I live in bismuth country.
I do shoot hevi-shot in my Remington 870 20 bore. |

Just, what exactly would it take to buy out the old Bismuth Company?
Doesn't the fact that no one else has done so yet tell volumes? |

It could be something as simple as the patent is about to expire?
Without the patent rights the Bismuth Ctg Co would be worth bubkus.

I was looking at the Environ Metal Heavy Shot web page and noticed the are making a slightly softer shot that they claim can be used in classic doubles. As a matter fo fact, the shell box says classic doubles. There is a 28 and 16 gauge loading listed but has yet to be produced. The 16 ga load is 1oz #5 shot. I'm not sure when these will hit the market but it will be an alternative to Bismuth. |

Please post their web page. If enough people inquire about the 16 ga. stuff, they may produce it faster. TJC is probably good for a pallet or two. |

I purchased a flat of 16 gauge bismuth last year in #6. With the demise of the Bismuth Cartridge Company and Kent TM hard to get if you can find it at all and about the price of gold, I suspect that this is the LAST Non-Tox 16 gauge suitable for older doubles i will have. -Dick |

Here's the link. It talkes about the new "classic double" loads on the main page, lower left: ENVIRON-Metal, Inc. Introduces HEVI-Shot® Classic Doubles – Safe for Vintage Guns!
http://www.hevishot.com/home.html
I e-mailed and they are expecting Q1 08 for first shipments.
