Hi all what are your thoughts on this maker? "Spanish Best" gives them excellent marks, but I'm looking for thse who own one or did at one time.
Looking at the sidelock models not the boxlocks imported by Stoeger.
Whats a good price range for a SLE, 16ga in the 95%+ area? I know, judge the gun, just looking for a ballpark figure.
Thanks as always!!!!!!!!

I'd put a 12 ga Sarasqueta SLE in the $1200-1500 ballpark.
So with the current market driven 50% premium on 16s, about $1800-2200 or so.

Assuming it's a Victor Sarasqueta as opposed to Felix or J J.. You mentioed the Stoeger guns, If the gun you're looking at is as good as the 1960s sidelocks imported by Stoeger, it's a very nce gun.. Do you know which grade you're looking at? V. Sarasqueta makes several grades of SLE, the Lower grade is not worth $2000 and the highest grade is worth a little more.....MDC |

I opened a V. Sarasqueta 12 ga. imported by Stoeger (is is called a Zepher?). The gun had a mushroomed firing pin. Took the gun apart and trued up the pin and it is still firing perfectly.
Inside, everything was well put together and solid. Not many file marks, but they were there if you looked in the right places. Not as fine as my Union Armera Consort, but definitely not junk.
The problem with these guns for the SxS crowd has always been the configuration: pistol grips w/semi beaver tail forends do not seem all that popular. Unfortunately, this configuration has always kept prices and popularity down --I'd say $900-$1200 even for the 16 ga. If its a 12 ga. you can definitely do better if you look around.
