Check out the item below from the Associated Press. 
(a) Some pretty poor shooting.
(b) The 12-gauge fanatics would probably tell us a 12 would have got the job done.
(c) Can you believe she got released on bail?
VANCOUVER, Wash. - A woman is accused of shooting her husband four times with a 16-gauge double-barreled shotgun after learning of an affair.
Eddie Martin, 51, survived the attack, but may have to have a limb amputated. Sheryl Martin, also 51, had to reload after the first two shots.
Martin made her first appearance on Monday in Clark County Superior Court. Martin was released on bail and will live with her parents. She will be formally charged September 21st.
Eddie Martin told his wife he was having an affair and wanted a divorce.
They argued and Eddie went to sleep in a camper. Sheryl found a shotgun, loaded it and allegedly shot him while he was in bed.
Sheryl Martin called 911 and told a dispatcher what she had done and was arrested on Saturday.
The pair have been married for 30 years. |

He got shot with a SxS 4 times and she had to reload after the first 2 shots  duh..... If I'da been him I would not have been Zzzz in the camper but would have been over at the new girlfriends and took the 16 with me. Does seem odd that the woman is out on bail  |

The truely tragic loss here is that this 16ga will be taken in as court's evidence, never to see another crisp fall day...
(Couldn't pass by the chance to quip. I'm glad the guy survived, and sorry for his injuries. I am also perplexed why the wife was allowed out on bail. Iwould think that at the very least she would be held for psych observation...) |

Don't know about Wash state or NC, but in the real world once the legal proceedings are over and it's no longer needed as evidence, a gun would be returned to it's rightful owner. You might have to tell the cops you want it back, but it IS your (his) property.

I think most on this board already know this but this is definite proof, the 16ga isn't for everybody.  |

And on top of that loads that were too light and poor choke selection. Excuses, excuses. |

Might of been one and it doubled

I lived in Vancouver, WA until recently, and I saw very few other 16ga. double shotguns there other than mine. Somebody was holding out on me!
