The Filson Web site mentions that the country of origin for their tin pants is now Zambia. I realize there is some debate going on here about offshore manufacturing. Having been in Africa this past May and seen the hopeless job picture, I for one will be quite happy to buy pants made in a factory that gives Zambian workers a chance to earn a living. |

Are the pants from Zambia or the cotton?I think Filson has always used cotton from Africa because of the properties of that type of cotton. |

Zambia? Which pants? I checked the website and the single tin pants are made in the USA.
In any event, if you purchase items formerly manufactured in the USA and now manufactured off shore, the item is priced the same, the increase in profit does NOT go to the country of manufacture, the increase in profit goes to the manufacturer. It's a very good way of increasing profit margin drastically, the only problem is that puts US workers out of work and charges you more than the product is worth.-Dick |

I could swear that when you went to product details on the Single Tins yesterday, country of origin was Zambia. Today it says United States. Double Tin Pants page says Hong Kong. |

I think also that cotton is imported which is a damn shame. Farmers in Our Country have taken enough beatings I only care that citizens of USA have jobs and are able to make a living. The next time I buy from Filson I will question them as to wear it was made and if the material is imported. Carhartt has been pulling this kinda crap for a while now. |
