Wanted to see what people’s experience has been with Seminole Chambermates using a 16 gauge bore. I am considering purchasing a set to shoot 28 gauge with. I had a set of Chambermates to shoot 28 gauge from a 12 gauge gun and I was not very satisfied. The 12 to 20 gauge seemed to be OK, but the 12 to 28 gauge just seemed to be too great of difference creating lots of weak sounding reports and poor patterns. What are the chances I will be a happy camper this time around? |

Use the money instead to get yourself into the low pressure group and load some 3/4 oz loads in the 16.The short adapters just don't cut it-I bought the full set for a 12 and promptly returned them. The full length tube is THE only way to go when reducing gauges in a lager bore |

Cant see the point myself. As hoashooter said, roll your own or try some 2 1/2s in 7/8 oz from RST & others to see if you can get what your looking for. |

I've got a set,I like them and would buy them again.I use them in a M-17 Husqvarna 2.5" chambers with extractors and have yet to experience any trouble. As well as my Superlight Citori. Both previous posters have good points as well.I gave 150 for my set and that will buy you about 1 1/2 cases of RST's
which I use as well and boy are they some good product.I shot a limit of roosters with the 1 OZ loads in 5's and stoned every bird to the point of discarding one of them due to the decimation. All the birds were at least 30 yards away and the ruined one more like 40.I hit him with the fuller side of the Husqy. |

sothere,
Do I understand you correctly that you're using 16-to-28 chambermates in a 2.5" chambered gun?
I was thinking about doing that, but called Seminole, and they said the mates wouldn't fit--that they once made a custom 2.5" set, but the cost was prohibitive (it was a one-off deal).
Where did you find them for $150? Used?
Thanks,
