Anyone use this to "reconditon" the mouth of a hull? I still have a fair supply of Activ hulls and they really have a strong "memory". This thing is suppose to open the mouth of the hull up for easier reloading.

I see there is an EXCELLENT 2 page article in lastest 2008 Feb-March Handloader magazine, page 76 in the talking about the Thermagic hull conditioner made by Ayers Arsenal.

It's different than the "Spin Doctor" sold at BP.

He made lots of great points, I use mine for to "OPEN UP" the mouths of shotshell after hulls have been roll crimped OR other crimps. Also to take the 6 or 8 pt crimp out so one can roll crimp them too.

Anyone else seen this article or used one?

Never read the above article....I may have to look it up.

Sounds similar to the Spin Doctor...which I also use.

It can breath a bit of life back into a hull...but most often I use it to "correct" a nasty reload that got that lovely 'double fold' crimp you get once in a while. After that load is fired you can correct the mess and get a few more load from a hull that was going to be tossed as it was prematurely "screwed up".

The Spinnner works with friction while the other one has a heating element--
