| I have a bunch of once fired Federal hulls and have been having a hard time getting a decent crimp on them. Anybody have a suggestion to correct this problem? I am using a MEC 600JR with a 1ounce load. |

try going a little deeper with your crimp starter. i have a p.w. and had the same problem with 16s. i run the crimp starter down to just past the old crimp ring. i get a good crimp this way.

I reload hundreds of purple federals with vry gd crimps on a MEC 900. All 3 crimp stations must be set exactly for correct depth, (for a true 2 3/4" hull) . Yours may be set for a 2 9/16th or 2 5/8th inch hull, and need adjustment. If your finished shell has a hole in the middle of the crimp your crimp start station and/or the crimp middle station are Too High.
A failsafe help method is to get the MEC tech dept. on your phone (they love to help) while you're right in front of the machine.

Just box them ol purple hulls up and send to to me, that way they don't get ya to adjetated
