I have not had hands on, but...

My buddies at work and I were discussing buying one and found out that making shot is a little more complicated than one would think. Getting the shot round depends on the height of the device spitting out the molten lead/antimony and the cooling agent used. Many guys end up with oval or tear drop shaped shot using the Littleton shotmaker.

Then, there is the hunting of a good source --i.e. tire shops and lead weights. Not to mention the fumes.

In the end, we decide to leave it to others.

Dr. Dave,
All those points might be moot with bismuth.

I have a response and a question.I have run several ton of LEAD shot thru four Littletons-They bear little resemblence to how they started life.Cooling oil temp, etc all influence shot quality. My source is wheel weights--for bismuth do you buy the material in certain pound blocks then melt it down?I found through much trial and error how sensitive making good pellets from liquid can be.I am guessing much of what I learned could be applied to bismuth Rolling Eyes
