Has anyone patterned the various factory loads to see how different they are?
How much adjustment can actually be made using various available loads before one has to think about handloading or changing the choke consrriction on a gun? |

Jon,
It really wouldn't matter much. Because these loads would probably pattern differently in your gun, than someone elses. You should do your own pattern testing. |

This is a tough question because barrels are individual, even when constrictions are close.
I've run Rem promotional GLs aand B&P F2s on paper. Have also played with spredder disc inserts and soda straw inserts with 1 oz loads of #6.
B&Ps will generally pattern tighter than most other stuff. If you have an IC constriction and want mod performance (or better) this is a good shell.
Rem GLs will almost never pattern tighter than the constriction would suggest, but can be pretty darn close. Thus, they give mod patterns from my .021 full M-12, and IC/LM from a .012 mod M-12.
Spredder disc loads are amazing. They seem to give cylinder to skeet patterns almost through any choke. The soda straw inserts will open patterns only a little bit - result is a bit more open than Rem GL factory load.
Bottom line: you'll have to try some different loads in your barrel, but maybe the above can get you started.
