Newbie here...hello everyone! I inherited what seems to be a model 315 from my uncle. I fired a couple of 2 3/4 Rem game load #6 shot and all was well. Now I hear that some of those old guns were made for 2 9/16. Is there anything to this? Also...is there any foolproof way to determine that it is, in fact a 315? Thanks... |

Thanks for your response. I do have pics on my desktop, and will have to figure out how to post them. |

Many early shotguns were made with 2 9/16" chambers. I have a great little L.C. Smith with these "short" chambers and it shoots fine! You can use 2 3/4 shells, but they do raise the pressure some. Easy to find 2 1/2 or 2 9/16" shells as you will see by the posts on this forum. I can't help with the identification. Enjoy. Also, check out www.16ga.com |

Duh..... If you click on the link above you will get a second page that lists several suppliers of 16ga shells, along with other neat stuff.
BTW Dave, do you still have snow up there? |

Snow is pretty much gone in the lower, but the U.P. still has some.
It's not warming up very fast. Chance of snow this weekend. |
