Dennis sent me a check for the postage and a letter stating that the barrels fit wonderfully and thanking me for doing this for the ole girl , he said that he was very fond of the ole gun and was sick when this happened to her .
Glad I could bring an old MARLIN 90 BACK TO LIFE !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Long live the Marlin 90 and the 16ga.
Regards Charles |

The above has been an advertisement for Charles Hammock's Gun Works. Ressurecting broken, discredited gauges and guns from the depths of obscurity.
This message has not been approved by Charles Hammock or anyone with any sense.
That being said, I'm waiting for you to part with one of your 90s charles! Or should I just send you one to have the Hammock treatment?

No thank you! I don't want a damn darne!
The only thing they are good for is emptying loaded shells. IF I had a reloading fetish and needed more empties...then and only then would I want a Darne. And if I really needed empties maybe I could just get an 16ga Automagic of somesort.

Hello Ash :
For the targets at the Flatwater shoot , the Darne is a wonderful shooting iron , now for anything more difficult then the Darne is much less desirable indeed .
30 yards and closer these guns are unequaled just as the Marlin 90 but past that distance you might as well be throwing rocks , with the rocks being more effective.
I love the ole guns for close in work but I will take the Marlin 90 everytime , it simply does it all !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Regards Charles |
