Before I get going I'll be doing an inspection/de-priming of all the hulls I intend on reloading. I figure I might as well clean them to...

Inspection:
check for splits & cracks at the opening
check the insides for debris

Is there anything else I should look for?

Cleaning:
Is there a preferred method for cleaning hulls? Just wipe with a rag? Should I avoid washing them in a bucket of water?

Yes, I know - this is a big no-no for the hulls with a paper wad base...

I'm talking Rem hulls here.

Thanks All,
TMS

Well, I'll take a crack at this. Wink

I have a habit of picking up hulls at the range.
I simply wipe them off with a rag, to remove any sand.
Then I'll look in the hull and blow out any leaves or grass.
Load them up, and bang away.
I see no reason to wash them.

I would clean them, before you de-prime them.
Keeps the sand and junk out of the press, dies, and sizer.

This works best with the old AA and STS hulls but should be ok with any hull with a plastic base wad.

De-prime and re-size hulls. Put them in an old pillow case (emphasis on old less the better half will have you and your guns residing in the garage). Place in washing machine with a bit of dish washing detergent ( regular laundry soap gets kind of gummy). Let air dry for a day or two and you are ready to reload.

Thanks Gents I figured I was over thinking it a touch - hoping to get the press set up and sort/de-prime a bunch of hulls.
