Is anyone aware of a good list of powders by bulk...how much space they take up per grain? A Density chart would work as well too, as I could do the conversions.
Thank you. |

I don't know of a powder density or bulk chart.
When I want to compare to different powders, I look at the bushing chart for reloading. For example, look at what size bushing is needed to drop 20 grains of each powder. The one that uses the larger bushing is the bulkier powder. |

BP publishes a book called The Powder Manual. I have the 3rd edition (a few years old) and in it they profile all the common powders. Relative densities, burn rates, cleanliness of burn, so on. They even give a bio. on each powder suggesting different scenarios that they have used the powders in. For someone really critical of knowing the nuts and bolts of the different powders from a third party in a single easy to read manual I'd highly recomend picking up a copy. Hope this helps, Mike |
