Do any of you have a recipe for a 7/8 oz. load using Unique? Alliant's web site does not even list a 7/8 oz. load for 16 ga.

Appreciate any info.

I do not know of any manufacturer's manual that now lists a 7/8 ounce 16 ga load. However, you will be safe using the same amount you'd use for a 1 ounce load. You can also reduce the load by a 1/2 grain or so to make sure. simply use enough filler wads under the shot to ensure a good workable crimp height.

The 16 gauge reloaders group has several. I have been shooting one in the black Remingtons. The $20.00 membership fee is well worth the money. Think of a load you would like to see and if it is possible to do it safely, they probably have it.

Another starting point is data for 20ga.

My favorite 7/8 oz load is 17 grains of Green Dot. It patterns and performes well on live birds. Use Rem. case, Gualandi 1620 wad. I also get excellent crimps with that combination of components.
