Lead prices peaked on the markets at ~$1.80/# October last year. Currently about $.80/#. I expect we'll see shot around $25 a bag by the end of the year.
Though with the trashing of the economy by the current administration, I doubt we'll see much below $20 ever again.
Cheers,
R*2

Good call Rrusse11,
With lead now heading below .40 a pound, hope we'll see shot below $20 by the time nice shooting weather returns! Looking back through this thread I noticed..

I do believe we have shot SC together a few times on Wednesday nights at Eville, looking forward to the upcoming season!

high$trap,
Kewl! Dog & barefoot, weather permitting. Do you ever make it to Columbia?
They'll be shooting trap on Wed nights after the first of the year. I've been working my through my stock of shot, gambling that by the time I run out the price will be down even more. Just hit a bag of Eagle at the bottom of my stockpile that had a $19.95 label on it. Been snagging some 16ga A5's on the net going reasonable. Lookin' fwd to giving them a run at Elstonville. With work on the weekends I unfortunately don't get to Hummelstown, the other good venue in the area. I'm definitely jonesing here for some shooting. Cya' soon!
Cheers,
R*2

Rrusse11,
Wednesdays usually find me at Manheim, I will be shooting in the Columbia winter trap league in a couple weeks though. Funny you mention the A5, I tried to pick up a Sweet 16 a few weeks ago at an auction but it went for more then I felt its condition was worth. See you on a course somewhere soon!! Best Regards, R Rambler

San Antonio - $29.95. Just like gas, I don't get more than I need...just let it drop!

The prices vary locally from about $60 per bag down to about $24 a bag from the higher volume outlets. The poor shop owners who stocked up on shot before the price crash are now going to lose money or own the stuff until hell freezes over.

I just plain refused to buy shot during this period of stockmarket price manipulation and insane price hikes. I figured I could wait them out. I was pretty much right. Uncontrolled greed and unfair market practices will usually get its comeupance after a while. I've seen it before. The bastards always end up taking a bath if folks can wait them out.

I've been trading earlier purchased bags of 7.5 premium shot I stocked up on several years back for #9 skeet shot, so I've not needed to buy shot for a long while. I 'spect I'll buy some this spring or summer. I expect the price to hit at or just below $20 dollars for premium domestic shot and even less for imported shot. I could use a couple of bags of #8 shot for 7/8 ounce trap loads, otherwise I'm okay.
