Can anyone shed some light on the realistic value of this gun? I did not realize a Stevens has yet to fall into the collector antique catagory. What say ye? |

Being a 5100 makes it pre-1949 (I think) which is the last year they used that designation. The wood will be checkered walnut; looks like this one has a lot of cc left. $500 is probably a little high; then again, hard to find a 16ga sxs for $500 these days. Good solid shooter that ain't gonna break, but you're right: not what I'd call collectible. |

I'd say the price is about the going rate. My son just bought one for 575.oo. I have always poo-pooed the Stevens, but I am impressed with his 16. Very nice wood, pretty case, great shooter.... |

My 16ga 5100 was my go-to gun for years - heck, for a long time it was about my ONLY gun. It never let me down, and I'm not sure I didn't shoot it the best of any of 'em. |

I have a 5100, made in 1952. The CC is very worn and part of the safety switch has crcked off. The gun is checkered and has been fited with a pad. I paid $400 for it three or four years ago. |

I have the 410 in the 5100. Sweet little thing in about 95%. I've never had a problem with it and is for sure a level or two above the 311.
I paid $550 3-4 years ago |
