I would like to start loading shells for my 16 gauge 1100 and but I'm not sure were to find hulls and wads.

Also any advice for hull/wad combinations would be welcome.

Recommend you buy loaded ammunition such as Winchester SuperX or Remington Game load for your initial stock of hulls. Starting with a preformed crimp will save you some headaches in the long run. Powder and primers are best purchased locally because if you order them in the shipper will tack on a $20.00 hazardous materials handling fee. It is best to buy your shot locally becase shipping will be expensive.

Graf and Sons in Mexico, Mo http://www.grafs.com/ has about the best prices and shipping rates for wads.

I really recommend that you join the 16 gauge loaders group by sending RW Gray (he posts here as RWG) a private message. The group has reloading data not available anywhere else and you will get the $20.00 joining fee back many times over on the testing of new loads.

For new stuff and some used take a look at;

http://www.precisionreloading.com

http://www.midwayusa.com

http://www.ballisticproducts.com/

http://www.bucksrunsports.com/

http://www.ableammo.com

For hulls, used stuff and some new sometimes try;

Ebay

http://www.auctionarms.com/

http://www.gunbroker.com/

For reloading info try; Lymans reloading book and Reloading For Shotgunners. Joining the Low Preasure Group isn't a bad way to go either. Do a search for LPG on this site and you'll find how to get there.

Hope this helps and welcome to reloading for the 16ga, a word of caution; it's adicting. Just cause I'm a fan I need to throw this in (sorry to keep beating this drum guys); don't forget to consider roll crimping. IMO it has a few merits over fold crimping if you don't go through 1000's of round/year.

Mike

That sucks. First the stimulus package, next universal health care and no Social Security and now this. I guess we had better get used to it and patronize our local components dealers.
