I'm a paid member of the LPG but have lost my computer connection to the site (again!). Can someone help me out with 7/8 oz. and 3/4 oz. recipes for the Winchester compression formed hull? I much prefer the 3/4 though. 1140-1200 fps is fine.

I have lots of; Circle Fly cards, R-16 and AA16 wads and Unique, Green Dot, International Clays and Clays powder. Have a bit of old 473AA too. I'd prefer to use the curently produced stuff.

I'd appreciate it. PM is fine if you prefer.

Thanks in advance.

PM Russ Gray and explain your problem. He will get you set up again. It may cost you a beer next time you see him but it's worth it.

oldhunter and Twicebarrel...thank you very much for the replies.

I appreciate the suggestions very much but just for the sake of clarification; I'm hoping for a quick fix here without having to resort to re-establishing my computer connection to the LPG site right now. My computer issue won't be resolved for likely a couple of months. The reasons are not worth mentioning.

I sure don't have any aversion to buying Russ (or anyone else for that matter) a beer, even though I don't see him very often. I routinely enjoy that pleasure in life with my fellow shooters once the guns are put away! Usually premium stuff if it's available, because I only drink one and on rare occasions... two. I'm a lightweight.

Oldhunter...I have a ton of other wads and don't really wan't to use BP wads unless I have to. And, among the good loads you listed, none use what I already have and the only one that looks like it fits my components with a minimum of new purchases is the 7/8 oz. 473AA R-16 recipe. I'll get some of that powder if I must but I'd rather use what I have...is it still made?

Again, I'd much prefer 3/4 though. My old LPG disc shows only 1 oz. loads for the AA16 hull.

I've used the components listed in my original post successfully for years in the RGL hull but don't really want to just swap to the AA16 hull without a tested oor published recipe or at least solid info. that the hull swap would be safe and similar to the ballistics of the RGL.

Anybody have any suggestions with the components I mentioned originally?

Thanks again.

The best option, is to look at the data for RGL hulls, find the load with components you want to use with the Winchester CF hulls, and send it off to Tom Armbrust. The results will be similar and you shouldn't be far off of your goal. Not very much info for your preferences that I know of.

Win cf 7/8oz 15.8 green dot win209 R16wad 1200fps
Win cf 7/8oz 16.5 unique win209 R16wad 1200fps
Win cf 7/8oz 17.4 unique win209 R16wad 1230fps
These should also be good for the Rem hull.

I use the same load in federal hulls only use 16.5 grains of green dot.. I just tried the load with 15.8 grains of green dot, only used 3/4oz of #7 shot with a meatray filler in the wad and an overshot card. The 11-48 functioned perfectly with no noticeable recoil. These might even be good loads for that DR16 wad. As I don't load many below 1oz I don't use that wad. Just use the R16 or fiber wads.
