Hi guys,
Wanted to make a light-kicking trap/skeet load for my little Lefever so, after reading the responses to my query on Saturday (thanks to those who responded) and checking the Hodgdon website, I loaded the following:
Win SuperX Hull
Win 209 primer
16.6g Int'l Clays (Mec powder bushing #26)
DR Wad
7/8 oz. 8.5's
I shot them on Sunday and the load performed well on trap. It had noticeably less recoil than the Winchester SuperX factory loads. The crimps looked like my 2nd grade art projects used to, but I suspect that may be due to some settings on my reloader.
All in all, a very easy-to-make 16ga trap load. Thanks to Charles and Downrange. 8mmFan |
