On Hodgdon's website it lists the loads using the Cheddite hull and the wad; G/BP 16 . Is that the B&P wad, known as the Trap Commander on BP's site or the Guliandi wad listed as SG16? Thanks, I have both.

Gualandi SG-16. (The BP refers to the wad retailed by BPI, not B&P's TC-16).

Russ is correct.

G/BP = Gualandi/Ballistic Products

Thank you! I like the TC16 for 1 oz hunting loads. I am trying to land on a powder. I am not concerned with low pressure but want to keep the velocity around 1200 and will use #7 shot. I am leaning to either Universal or PB, but also am interested in American Select.

Kevin,
Here's a load at three powder/velocity/pressure levels from the latest Precision Reloading manual.

Hull: Winchester Polyformed (Current Cheddite hull)
Primer: W209
Wad: B&P (your Trap Commander)
Shot weight: 1 oz.
Powder: Universal Clays
20 gr. 1154 fps 8100 psi
21 gr. 1232 fps 9000 psi
22 gr. 1308 fps 10,100 psi

I'd probably try something like 20.5 grains and see how it goes.

I think American Select might be too fast burning to make good 1 oz loads within SAAMI pressures. Maybe someone will test one and prove me wrong.

Thanks Dave, they look like good loads. I may submit a AS load or two using Fiocchi and Cheddite hulls.
Thanks.

A few yrs back , I had MR Amonetti test a load for Amer. Sel for activs as such : 17 grs a.s. , gulandi wad , 1oz shot , cci reg primer . It was 1250 fps , and 11,300 psi . ok , but max . Unfortunately , at the time , had no compulsion to try fed or any other cases as activs were avail then . Don't know if this will give you a place to start .

Look at Solo 1250 and Unique as well.

Mag 7s are wonderful. Especially for early or released pheasants, chukar, prairie grouse, and ruffed grouse. Must of my go to upland loads use Mag 7s.
