Are Fiocchi GTs the "good" Fiocchis ?
Is it compression formed?
Tapered or not?
I want to buy some good ones to reload... |

I've loaded several boxes of the Fio hulls successfully with the CB16 and DR16 wads. I find the CB16, with a cheerio filler loads a better 7/8 oz. round than the DR16. DR16 really comes into it's own as a 3/4 oz. wad, IMO.
The Fiocchi hull is straight walled, like ALL 16 ga. Since the demise of the Win AA in 16 ga., all hulls are straight walled.
I like the Federal 16 ga. hulls best for reloading. I seem to get the best results and the most reloads from Fed hulls. I know others have different experience, but that is the way it has seems to work out for me.
Good luck. |

I agree. And they're the right color too. |

The quality of Fiocchi GT cases is variable. Some lots work fine for reloading and others are skived so thin that half the case mouths split on the first firing. Based on durability, I would much rather have new, primed, unskived Fiocchi cases rather than the once fired factory loads.

Took you awhile. Hey, you remember that box of Federal 1 1/8oz? They will be filling my freezer this fall. Go Vikings. |

Between hunting everyday for grouse, and maybe a trip to South Dakota, and then there is the local preserve where I go for pheasants and chukars with my sons and grandkids. I keep hunting at the preserve after the seasons are closed up until March or April. Yes those federal shells will help fill the freezer. Forgot the ducks and geese. Getting ready for the early goose season now. |
