jschultz,

Take my word for it, I eat a fair amount of fish, it hasn't helped my memory at all.

Welcome to the CRS Society! Laughing

Uhh, Mark, I didn't post the memory thing, but I'm not claiming to have a good memory.javascript:emoticon('Laughing')

Jschultz
YOU are a HOOT.
Go with bullseye and a heavier shot load than normal and it should injure the shooter, and not the loader if he is standing behind the shooter. maybe, possible, perhaps, we shall see
Enjoy the day
Mike

Shultz,
In the interest of research, grab a bolt action 16ga or old single shot, should be less than $100, in a local gunshop. My bet is 35-40gr of Bullseye and as much large shot as you can stuff in a shell over a coupla' nitro cards should do the trick. Set up in a tire, find a wall to hide behind, and pull the string you've attached to the trigger. A video camera would be good too!
Hell, I bet if you set up a fund, more than one of us would cheerfully kick in a coupla' bucks to see the fun! Laughing

Too much technical data to work into the story line. Save your readers the trouble. Have the b*stard's neck snapped by an incoming dead in the air 6 pound rooster neatly nailed by the heroine on the next station over. Call it poetic justice. Smile

An equal mix of red phosphorus and potassium chlorate, loaded in to the shell will do the trick. Load it carefully, it's impact sensitive.

I live between two very small towns that have a lot of big game hunters, a few outfitters and a only hand full of bird hunters. There are many characters and personalities to blend or to draw from in terms of hunting skills, small town life and humor. The dead guy will appear to have died from a bad hand load, faulty shotgun or a plugged barrel. My hero will be the guy to solve the murder and I’m hoping to throw many twists into the plot. I’m fairly certain that a 16 gauge SxS side lock will be the shotgun of choice. It probably won’t be long before someone objects to the direction of this thread. Thanks to all that have made suggestions.

Don't know, which would hurt the readers the least?

Hello
Both would hurt the readers :>))

Have you ever read "A Brace of Skeet" by Gerald Hammond

It might be fun reading for you in your preparation

No I haven't, I'll see if our library has the book.
