I don't know much about the older ithaca doubles but I saw a pretty nice one for sale at Antique and Modern Firearms in Lexington KY Saturday. It was tight and had had all of the original finish on both stock and metal and had pretty tasteful engraving on the action. I believe he said it was a grade 2. All n all a very nice gun for it's age. They were asking $1600 which I have no idea about but I know there are some double fans here and thought I'd post it for their attention. That price seems a tad high, although the grade II is a very nice gun indeed. I know of another as you described in the $1400 range. I love the retro art-deco'ish engraving on those 20's era guns. |
