Got a new project and need to consolidate.
Pre war Sauer (April 1932) 16 ga boxlock ....27 5/8" barrels, auto safety, extractors, action tight, LOP 14 7/8 (front trigger to center of pad), choked .004/.012, DAC 1 3/8, DAC 2 1/2, Castoff 1/8. Checkering still has good grip, wood has only light handling marks (I think it was refinished before my time), bluing is gone a bit to brown, some fading of barrel ends. Stock around the action was tightened 2 years ago (gunsmith said it was normal shrinkage, some fiberglass was used), gun weighs 6 lb 6 oz and because of the pad extension balances right on the hinge pin.
Trying to think of everything...let me know if more info is needed.
$1500....if you bid less, please send me the pic/description of the pre-war Sauer you're basing your offer on

What is LOP without the pad? You mentioned fiberglass bedding of the stock head-were there any cracks in the wood??
Thanks, Littledoc |

Just got back from grouse hunting and saw your post...20 flushes in 2 hours on Sunday!!!! the grouse are back this year!!!!!!!!!!!
Best I can measure front trigger to the middle of the wood...13 11/16...the spacer and pad account for the rest.
As told to me by the gunsmith, the stock had shrunk due to natural aging.
If you are interested, I will be glad to supply his name and tel#. |
