I'm not positive, but, I wouldn't be surprised if it takes more than $850 to get that condition with either of those chokes.
Most of what you will find will be choked full.

| I have a model 12 in 16ga, It meets most of your requirments, no rust or pitting uncut butt stock, all matching numbers etc. Now the down side it has about 50% blue, orginal finish on wood is thin,[ but no nicks or heavy marks] 28" barrel marked full. Very nice old gun , about 1950. price is $600 + shipping. Del |

I ran across a beautiful one a month or so ago and it was choked full. How much value do you give up if one was to have it opened up? What would be the optimum choke?
I could have walked away with it in the $500-525 range and it was in really nice shape. I'm still considering it if I had it rechoked. |

| If you want to get an idea of what a really nice Model 12 costs these days with the chokes and in the condition you describe, check out the website of Dave Riffle Gun Sales, Inc. in Florida. They provide photos. The guns are in original condition and quite nice---Model 21's and 42's too; but you probably will catch your breath at the prices.... |

Whew......for a moment I'm glad mine didn't fit that criteria, otherwise I would have had to sell it. Fortunately for me my $349 purchase from a few years ago is too well-worn. Still has the original stock length but last year suffered a linseed/rottenstone rubdown. Grain is still "utilitarian." Metal will stay intact but I'm debating a change to open the factory MOD. choke on the 28" bbl. It's a dream to carry all day and I just worked up some #4 buck handloads I intend to try on coyote this winter.
