Not mine, and edgood has the first bid on it at $750. May go for not much more than that.

.

Two questions.

First, what is the reputation of the Savage Fox Sterlingworths versus the pre-Savage ?

Second, isn't the choke combination of IC/F a little unusual ?

For some reason the Savage guns dont enjoy the fame or value of other Fox's. My neighbor farmer is a Fox guy and has a Savage Sterly, 30" tubes, 16 bore that stands right up their with his Philly guns, to our eyes at least. IC-Full combo,? I have several, pretty much ideal for shooting Ks. Roosters...

Philla. SW has a bit neater finish. My Utica gun is probably better made. I suspect it depends on who fit the gun up at the factory. Sort of like the old don't get a car that was built on Friday thing. If you hunt pheasants, F&IC is tough to beat. It doesn't blow up the close ones and if you miss on the first shot you'll need the extra points of choke to knock him down on out there.

ic/f or ic/im is pretty much the ideal upland configuration for everything but grouse in my opinion.
