I'm currently reading a nice little book I came across. Its entitled 'Making Game-- An Essay on Woodcock'. The author is Guy de la Valdene. It can be found at Clark City Press, Livingston, Montana, (www.clarkcitypress.com).
I know we've probably done this before but I'd like everyone's recommendations for 'good reads', fiction or non-fiction that would be of interest to 16gaugers. I have a number of books but could always use more. Let's name the obvious as well as some well kept secrets.
Thanks, --Doug |

Great idea Doug-esp. since it's 5 mths until any sorta bird season
de la Valdene's 'For a Handful of Feathers' (1995) is quite good also.
I moved an old thread 'Upland Hunting and Gundog Books' back up: lots of good suggestions.
As for me, I've given all my 'good reads' to friends-it seems that in all of them, a dog dies. |

Rev, I guess there must not be any Spring Turkey season in your area. Not really my idea of shooting flying or needing a dog. You're right about the long wait. |
