History Of The Item: Browing model Sweet 16 semi-auto shotgun in 16ga. The serial number is 6617 s3, and the shotgun has a 26" plain barrel with a poly choke on the end. The shotgun is in very good condition it appears and has exceptional wood for a factory gun. The Browning sweet 16 has always been a popular shotgun and they were manufactured from 1937 - 1975 by F.N. The later models were produced from 1987 - 1992 and were manufactured by Miroku in Japan. According to the serial number your shotgun was made in 1954 and should have an S prefix in front of the serial number. These shotguns are very collectable depending on configuration and condition with the plain barrel guns being the lowest as far as values.
Appraiser Tips: The shotgun looks to be in very good condition and if current condition is maintained it will remain to increase in value some each year. Just make sure to keep it cleaned and oiled and the barrel swabbed out if you plan to shoot it and you should be fine. |
