I simply guess we have another expert who can tell us what a gun he hasn't seen, or handled, weighs....That is going around, it seems. The experts speak.
You did see the fact that my 1957 16 gauge model 37 weighs just over 6 lbs, right, Chas?
Your 16 gauge RBL is a pig too, Chas.

Best,
Ted

The upland BPS weighs 6 pounds 14 oz. The Hunter model goes 7 pounds 2.

I would be willing to bet that a plain barrel new M 37 would weigh the 6 pound 14 oz range. The VR model might be a little less than the advertised 7 pounds 4 oz.

Obviously there are other variables things like wood density etc and since no one has a new M 37 to weigh. We are comparing apples to oranges.

Like I said earlier 6 pound 14 oz or 7 pounds 4 oz . Its only 6 ounces This point is moot.

It would be moot if it wasn't so much fun to tweak Ted's pigginess.

Just going by what others have reported of the listed weight Ted, no reason to doubt them ... and going by your prior acceptance in this thread of the reported weight.

All my 6-3/4 lb. SxS guns are pigs ... I do so love pork. Smile

Hey! I have the answer...only 6 1/2 years too late...my 16ga Ithaca sandusky witj 26" vent rib weighs 6.90 lbs. I would like to add a grade 3 bps to the stable, so maybe I can get a weight on that too.
