As a recent returnee to the 16ga fold I find I have shells and reloading components but no storage boxes.
What do you guys use for boxes to store your loaded shells? Does someone mabe geraric 16ga boxes?
I have looked at MTM but I'd rather have cardboard boxs.
Putting spacers in 12ga boxes just don't get it!
Thanks |

Thanks Pete.
Guess I don't shot as much or with as high class company as some of you do.
I don't have but about 500 empty casses. I could load them all and dump them in a dry-wall bucket but I like a little more order in my life than that.
I was familiar with Ballistic Products, Inc but had missed the boxes.
Thanks again. |

I use square plastic boxes, with a lid and handle. Wife buys Dog treats in these, they are 14" to 16" square. I can put 500 to about 700 shells in a container, depending on the gauge. I hate messing with those 25 piece paper shell boxes. Then I keep a couple 5 gallon buckets in the truck to put the empty hulls in. |

I find it difficult when I am skeet shooting or worse yet shooting sporting clays to have to count out 25 or 100 rounds from a box full of shell. It is just easier for me to pick up 1 box of 25 and dump them in my vest for skeet or four box of 25 for sporting clays. |

When I run short on boxes I use the 1 gallon size heavy duty zip lock freezer bags. They will hold 50 rounds quite well and they keep the empties segregated.
They are also great for transporting your game home in the cooler after the hunt. |

Try Balisitic Products they have plain boxes that hold 25. They have them for any gauge. |

Ballistic Products' 16 gauge boxes suck; they're about 1/16" too small to hold the shells so they either rip when I load the shells or they don't shut on both ends, which means that I have 25 shells rolling around on my floor. |

I agree with bigric. BPs boxes are pretty useless. The are to small to fit over a MEC E-Z Loader and will rip apart if you try and force them. They can be filled with shells by hand, if you do it JUST right. They are not worth what they cost. As a matter of fact, I need to let BP know about it. |

Have used the boxes sold by Precision Reloading for several years--they fit over the MEC E-Z loader, seem to be pretty tough, labels are available and they can be purchased in 10's or 50's. |

I told you they were gunk but it will get you going I find most of mine on ebay but pay dearly for them but to me it is worth not having the aggravation. |
