Birdswatter, I'm not saying you can't get a good gun from this guy. But I would be very carefull. This guy is talked about (negatively) on every gunsite I visit. |

As with all internet purchases..........don't think of making a purchase without a proper inspection period. and be willing to eat the cost of return shipping with insurance etc.
It is also good to understand the different processes used to put color on a receiver. This allows you to examine the work and make a decision as to whether the appearance fits with a process which you consider to be accettable.

Approach with extreme caution. I'd want to eyeball the gun first. This guy does not welcome folks to his facility to conduct business directly. |

Thanks for the info, guys. Warnings noted. I emailed him regarding a gun that he had on Gun Broker stating that I wished to discuss it further and requesting a phone number. His reply was "the gun is as advertised, what do you want to discuss?" I told him to never mind. Doesn't seem wise to consider buying a gun from someone who isn't ready to provide info or answer questions. |

Anyone that cryptic is either screwy or too cagie to be trusted. Either way, its not a good idea to do business with one such as this. I believe his nickname is "the torchmaster." I really do not want to know why. |

I know nothing about the seller, but I doubt the gun pictured was "colored" via torch, and if it's in the condition described (and the pictures seem to back that up), it'd be a very good buy at $3,000 if you're looking for a 16ga Arrieta. |

A word to the wise is sufficient so they say. Anyone who chooses to deal with "Ole TM" is now on his own. Good luck. You'll need it. |
