Have been reloading 16 target loads for a few months using BP Multi-hulls and a MEC Sizemaster. The MEC came with a 8pt. crimp and using new hulls, they come out nice, but reloading once or twice fired hulls, the crimps aren't quite as nice. I've noticed that most of my factory ammo (Remington, Federal, Winchester) are all 6pt. crimps.

I just ordered a new crimp starter for 6pt. to experiment, but wondering if any of you have any insight on different points.

Not that it matters, but use a 16ga. Lightening Feather.

I prefer 6 point. For me they seem to keep their form better after several loadings. However I do keep me eight star for trap. It just helps me seperate them for what and how many times I used them.

flyline - I use the same hull with 6-pt crimps and after several loadings, I am still getting nice tight crimps.

Thanks, HC. The 8pt. hulls that have been reloaded for a couple of times are tight, just not picture perfect. I think I'll have better luck with the 6pt. when I change over.

Nice to see another Parker, CO resident here! Smile

Flyline, we need to get together sometime and do some clays. I have a membership at Quail Run where you can be a guest. I usually split my clays round between the 16 and a 12 because of the light weight of the Merkel 1620. I'll PM you my P/N.
