is the loose flair what causes some shells to fire sounding like,

bweeeeeef!.....pooooooweap!.....fwooooop!.

Those funny noises are made by wads that have been torn at the obturating cup.

What can also cause those funny sounds is a wad that is undersized and has let a reasonable amount of powder migrate from under the cup into the compressible section of the wad.

A loose SOMETHING will cause those sounds... if the fellow you're shooting with is making those sounds, try to stand upwind of him Wink

I've been expanding my claybuster for sometime now. I get much more constancy with expanded over powder claybuster wad. Cona. Averaged 1227 of 9 shots 1oz. 18.5 gr of 20/28.
