Hello,
I'm new to this forum and now own two 16ga shotguns. A 1946 production LC Smith and a new manufacture 870 Wingmaster.
I have shot both the Winchester SuperX and Remington Game Load shells and will be tapping you guys and gals for reloading advice.
I shoot skeet regularly and hunt when I can. I took the 870 to the skeet field this past Sunday. The fit, balance, and feel of the 870 is awesome.
The LC is nice also. It's nickel plated by a previous owner somewhere down the line and kicks like a mule for a 16, but I still like it.
I remember walking the fields of my youth with my grandfather's single shot 16. My Dad still has it.
I'm glad to see the 16 is still alive and well.
Take care all!

welcome aboard equismith.
i also have been shooting the wingmaster for over 3 years now, and prefer to shoot 5-stand and wobble trap with it. (low gun of course)
a lot of guys here will tell you it's too heavy, but as long as it's comfortable and you shoot it well, you should enjoy it a lot. |

Welcome Equismith to 16ga.com. It's nice to see more and more folks from Shotgunworld.com over here. I have enjoyed reading your posts over there, and am looking forward to more of the same here.
I also have two 16 gauge guns. And like you one is a vintage oldster, a 1952 Ithaca 37R, and one much newer, a Browning Citori Lightning Feather. To be honest I have never been an exceptional shotgun shot on live birds. But since I have gotten these two guns it seams as though I cannot miss. I guess that means it's obvious I haven't been putting many grouse up since I got these guns !!! |

Hey Bud,
Glad to hear that you are enjoying the Wingmaster. She's a nice gun. Also, good to see that you made it over here. I think you'll like it here.

Just thought I'd drop a photo of the LC. A previous owner nickeled it. Whoever did the plating did an pretty good job. Bores are mirrors. Shoots where you point. Hair left barrel trigger though.
Two digit 1946 serial #.
And yes, the Wingmaster is quickly becoming a new favorite to shoot. I gotta get a reloader.....
