I have a spanish made American Arms Silver II - in 16 ga choked IC/Mod it seems like a solid gun

I bought it for about $425 in trade and money

Any thoughts on quality of the gun?

Hello
Welcome on your first posting
I would bet there is a ZH in the proofmarks
Zabala Hermonas or Zabala Brothers

I like there work, but they are no longer in business

Mike

Yes, I remembered that they were made by Zabala or Saraqueta - but not much else.

And also look here

http://www.shotguns.se/html/spain.html

My Silver has screw in choke tubes, some of the early ones were fixed

BUT many of the Silver II guns were made in Italy by Fausti Stefano

Had one in 28ga. for a short time. It had fixed chokes and was made by Hermonos Zabala. Paid $400 for it.

Gun only had one problem, it would double when you fired the top barrel first. Shocked Other than that it was a nice little gun.

I've owned 2 AASII's and still own one in 24ga, although both mine are/were from Italy. Had a Zabala 20ga sxs with DT's articulating front and fixed chokes, very light carry all day field gun, pretty decent gun for the money and is one my "damn why did I sell that gun" ones. Every Zabala I've handled through the years was pretty decent for the money but I'd be leary about parts availability if you are not handy.

AND for fun, look at this list and you may find another barrel set for your receiver Smile

Now have an American Arms (Fausti) with 32 and 28 gauge barrel sets.
So have the entire gauge range of 410, 32, 28, 24, 20, 16, 12 and 10

I just bought an American arms 28 gauge. How do you tell if it is a zoli or a fausti? I'd like to purchase a 24 gauge barrel for it. I would get a 32 gauge barrel also, but they only have 24 inch ones left.

The makers mark should be on the barrels or action

I know where to find them. But there are a couple of blued 26 inch 24 gauge barrels for the silver 2 that look exactly the same. Will any of them work? Also, thanks for the quick reply on such an old thread.

Sorry, i didn't see the first part of your post. What does the fausti makers mark look like? I think it might be a fausti but not positive.
