I have my Grandfathers Auto-5 Belguim 16 gauge. I am interested in getting a newer barrel that I can shoot shoot steal through. If anyone knows where to look I would appreciate it. Thanks. |

The only barrels that you should consider for steel are the invector choked barrels. If your gun has or originally had a 2 9/16" chamber the invector barrels will not work.
The chamber was marked on the barrel in the proof marks. if the numbers (16 70) are there you can use an invector barrel. If the numbers (16 65) are there you cannot, even if the gun was modified to take the longer shells.
Sixteen ga invector barrels are on the internet auction sites pretty regularly. The prices are generally horrifying, they can go for $400 to $600 though if you persevere you may find a deal around $250.

Thanks Jeff,
I checked and it is 16 70 so I will see if I can find one with invector chokes. |
