I have a aya 4/53 that origionaly came from fieldsport. it is a straight stock with splinter foreend. engraved action, 6.5lbs, concave rib, single beadc checkered butt, case colored, double trigger gun. lop is 14 3/8 to front trigger and 13.5 to the back trigger. This gun has some blueing wear on the outside of the left barrel where the left hand would hold onto the gun and average handling marks. I can send a lot of pics to a cell phone or email address.maybe someone can upload them for me..my only email is thru a work portal and their filter system won't let me do a photo bucket. bores are perfect and receiver has no scratches, it does have a right hand cast, MAYBE 3/16THS, I am not for sure how to measure that and I think it is choked ic and modified. I am having someone come by to read the barrel stamps for me to verify...$2500...final offer then off to gb |

beautiful gun, for sure...I haven't seen that firmness in the market personally...maybe your gun is different than my 4/53 20 gauge...Fieldsport does tend to add to the price...maybe those are a higher level 4/53? I have seen Aya #2 Sidelocks in the $3-4k range pretty regularly in the past 6 months...they fall in that price range that you outlined...again, nothing against your gun...a real beauty! |

I don't think that 16's are tough to find...go to guns international or gun broker or cabela's...nobody is asking 5k for a used 4/53...I have 4 16 gauge doubles, doesn't make me an expert, but I spend 80% of my time looking at Spanish guns, which I have 4 of...2 16's, a 20, and a 28...again, means nothing, but you will find a buyer for your gun given where you have it priced, but you wouldn't if you tacked on a grand...just where the market is. The proof is in the pudding. |

cabela's in mitchell SD has an AYA 4/53 Bill Hanus 16 gauge bird gun for $2999...that is a minty gun due to the specs that Hanus had AYA use for the guns. Sweet piece. The market for used #2 side locks at the moment is in the $3700-$5,000 range, and 4/53's seem to be in the $2200-$3500 range, depending....I am talking about standard 4/53's. Fieldsport may be offering a different gun, i.e. wood upgrade for example. Don't know. Good luck with your gun. |

have seen several ugartechea box lock 16's get snapped up recently...in the $1300-1500 range...grade 2's, which are extractor guns, not ejector guns...the grade 3's can be had for upper teens/2k range...that is what the AYA 4/53's are competing with, though they are a better gun, but not by much. Uggie did close up shop, which adds another dimension to the current situation. |

There is not to be discussion over price in the for sale section, your opinions can be relayed via PM.
The price that is "fair" will be determined by the seller and buyer.
