I came into a number of once-fired Remington Express hulls, the green high-brass kind.

For reloading purposes, can I treat them the same as the black RGL hulls?

I believe that will depend on the base wad material and the primer size. If they have a plastic basewad and take the 209 size primer, then they would take the same data. If they have a fiber basewad and take the old 57 size primer, I believe they use different data.

A word of advice here. Any of the Remington RGL/Express hulls w/ plastic base wads are generally safe to reload if they aren't beat up. I strongly advise you to very carefully inspect inside and out, any of the older hulls w/ fiber base wads. These old hulls are now approaching 40 years old or older. compressed fiber base wads don't hold up to moisture, rough handling, or use past one or two reloadings at most. They are basically nothing more than press board with a coating of varnish on the top.

Ive loaded the fiber based Exoress hulls up to 10 times and have never had an issue with the base wad. Primer pocket gets loose first

Well, some folks like to live dangerously. Some don't.

These compreesed fiber base wads are made of ground up wood fiber which is anything but rugged. The compressed paper base wads are stronger, but even they have limitations. The worst thing which happens to any of these old hulls is getting wet. Once wet, the hull is ruined. That's why I recommend inspecting them inside and out.

I've seen what happens when a fiber base wad fails and ends up as a barrel obstruction. I'm in the 2nd group. Laughing
