May seem like a silly question, but is there now or has there ever been a 16ga specific MTM type plastic box?
I hate the rattle of my rounds in the 12ga boxes and the 20s are too snug.
Thanks,
Tim |

MTM makes boxes with an insert for 12/20. The insert works fine for 16 ga no rattles. |

I have 16 gauge trays made by MTM that fit their 100 round ammo boxes. |

I have an old red Herters that 16 gauge shells fit in perfectly but not sure if it actually says "16 gauge" on the box.

Check MTM 16 ga on Amazon dot com
A while back I was able to get MTM trays to switch out in a MTM box I already had |

I repourposed several old 12ga Flambau boxes into 10ga boxes by running a drill in the shell cavity's. In that light, maybe an 11/16" or 3/4" drill would help convert a 20ga box to 16ga?? |

I use MEC Ez-Packs and therefore repack the regular 25 round boxes that I already have. I prefer this method to Bulk Packing with the potential of beating them up, or the size and expense of plastic tray carriers. I would expect that the plane 25 round plastic boxes for 12 gauge would work, but when I run out of boxes or they get damaged, I can get new ones at:

Killing time at the mom and pop gun store today I came across two 16 specific boxes. They look to be rather old I'm guessing from the 70s or early 80s. They are Flambeau, a copper/tan color with green lettering and a picture of a guy upland hunting behind a dog marked 16-20ga. The box is a two piece design not a one piece with the fliptop |

I still have many Flambeau ammo boxes from the 70s and 80s as well as some gun cases that to this day I still think are superior to many of the currently available low priced ones.
