< 16ga. Guns ~ How rare is a Winchester Model 1400 red letter in 16 ga IC ? |

Picked up a 16 ga Winchester Model 1400 with improved cylinder barrel. Just wondering how rare these are. Appears to be built on 12 ga frame. Gun was in perfect shape. Just don't remeber seeing many of these around. |

IIRC the 16 bore versions of the model 1200 and 1400 were only offered for about a year or so. Having said that most if not all would be red letter guns. Be aware that the red W on the grip cap does not mean it is a red letter gun. Early Winchetser models had red filled metal engraving like the model 37 on the bottom of the receiver. Still I think you have a very rare 1400 that should be fun to own and show off.
