Does anybody besides me like em.They're the same length as Federal and take no press adjustment between the two. They also hold up better then the black hulls.

The ones that I have are older & I think better than the newer ones. They mostly set in boxes waiting for the day that I run-out of Cheddites/Winchesters, which doesn't look like it's going to happen any day soon, but I like them (provided they use 209 size primers).

The old green Remington hulls are great.

The green Remington hulls will last longer and give more reloads than the black hulls.
Thing I like about the black Remington's or Cheddites is if I loose them in the weeds it doesn't matter to much. They are readily available and fairly cheap.

I load them a little hotter then the black for longer sporting clay shots, by just looking at the color tells me what load I am shooting

I do like the green Remintogn hulls a little better than the black hulls.

They seem to last a load or two longer the the black hulls.

First, perhaps we should note the difference between the obsolete and the modern Remington green hulls. The obsolete ones which require a 57* primer have compressed fiber base wads. The modern ones have a molded plastic base wad. The modern ones are better for reloading IMO. the molded plastic base wads don't rapidly deteriorate like the compressed fiber base wads. Unfortunately, the plastic hull tubes on the modern hulls isn't nearly as resilient as the older ones.

I have always liked the modern green Remington hulls. They do last a bit longer than the black RGL hulls. The plastic tubes seem to be of a better quality. However, both the modern green hulls and the black RGL hulls from before about 2000 are a lot better than those being manufactured now. Since that time, the plastic hull tubes of either have steadily gotten worse. now we are lucky if the brand new factory hulls mouthes don't split on the first firing.

Which Rem loads, by specific brand name so I can order it online, have the green hulls, and which have the black??

All my Rem hulls I'm using are from the 90s, around 91-94. I have't bought anything new in 16ga except Herters, have 16 boxes of that or so. I'd like some new Rem hulls, but have never seen them at any LGS or Cabelas or Sportsman's Warehouse, so I have to order online, but I'd like to get the green ones-- sounds like they stand up better. What do I order, and from whom?
Thx

I think all of their 1 1/8’oz loads are the green bulls. Precision reloading sells once fired hulls at times when they are in stock

The 16 ga Remington Express and Nitro steel have the green hulls, they are expensive at anywhere from $15 to $22 a box depending on where you buy them.

Dave, Around here you can buy them at WalMart. As was stated Precision has once fired in stock. 16's are worth buying as once fired because of the high cost of new IMO.

As mentioned previously, WalMart is a source for the Express ammo. I am surprised to be able to say this, but WalMart pretty much continuously stocks them

I do the same thing.

But I use the green for the light loads and the black for the heavies.
