Pine creek. At the time I had Briley make my 28 titanium tubes they sent back with them a poly hammer and a poly punch to insert in the tube for either end. They fit to my cyl bore choke in my Citori. I also have 5 screwing for the 28 tubes. When i go bird hunting for grouse I use the 16. But hunting woodcock I slip in the tubes. As you can see I have a good variaty to choose from Bill. |

I had Briley install thin wall tubes in the left barrel of my Husky 16 hammer gun recently, with sk, m, and xf chokes, and I took it out for skeet and trap yesterday. My right barrel is fixed ic. The chokes were fantastic. The skeet choke smoked everything, including station 7 and 8, which I usually have a tough time with. I switched to mod. in the left barrel to shoot some trap, and I shot much better than normal. I shoot low gun, even at trap, and it didn't seem to matter. I couldn't be happier with the results so far. Instant choke selection like this is also a great example of why dt guns are so versatile. Can't wait to use the xf tube for chukars, late ducks and turkeys. |

Indeed. Even a lot of new sxs's don't have dt's, which seems to defeat the whole purpose of a double gun imho. Years ago, I remember seeing a dt French 16 o/u on an online auction. Straight grip, side plates, slim receiver, beautiful wood, just a stunning gun in every regard. I think it went for $1200, and it was the one o/u I regret not going for. |

UncleDanFan,
I have to agree with you 100%, give me the DT double gun every time. I do have a few SST double guns. However in the Grouse woods I want my DT for instant choke selection. One of the reasons I almost passed on my newer L.C. Smith 28 Gauge double gun was the SST, I broke down and purchased her anyway, glad I did.
I have a LeFever/Ithaca 12 Gauge Double Gun built on a 16 Gauge Frame, just after Ithaca acquired the LeFever Company name, when Baker and Smith 1st opened the company. It has Ejectors, DT, a modified Brown Rotary Bolt, 28" Barrels and Custom Engraving with Oak Leaf Checkering, and the old gun is one deadly Bird Gun.
