I recently found several cases of the B&P F2 Classic 16 ga that are 2 9/16" in lenght. Would it be safe to shoot these in a 2 1/2" chamber? I seem to remember the old adds stated they would work in any lenght chamber but my memory isn't what it used to be. I originally bought them for use in my Merkel 1620.

The old B&P F2 say 2 5/8 / 67mm on the box, but when measuring the fired brown hulls they are a little shorter and are under 2 5/8. The Cheddite hulls are decent to reload.

I brought about 20 flats of #7s & #8’s when they were closing out.

I do not recall the actual pressure, but seem to recall they are closer to 9k PSI. They also seemed to kick soundly (not an issue with hunting loads as you are focused on the bird and you don’t notice it much.)

As long as your gun is sound (not thin barrel wall thickness) you should be able to use them in 2 1/2 in chambers. I regularly use them in my vintage guns.
