I have about 1600 Herters wads and they would apply to this type shot well with their capacity . Took some data for 20/28 powder and tried to apply it to 2 5/8 Fed cases and this is what we get ..... Fed/Ched , the Herters wad , 383 grns of Rotometals #1 Biz ,and 21grns 20/28 : 1440 FPS , sd of 16 , 12900 PSI !!I'll be using this load at 19 grns of powder and should have plenty of Velocity ! .... also had tested a 28ga sporting load : Win HS , 15grns 20/28 , Ball Prod sp wad , 260 grns of shot (trying to get near 5/8 with my dipper) . thought this one might be fast and OK , HOWEVER , 1460 FPS , SD of 8 , 13875 PSI , sd of 370 . Be using this one at 13 grns . |

BD - I use cheddite's in most of my loads only because inexpensive and easy to get . I was a little surprised that 1.5 grns over data book with that shot reduction was so radically high ... one never knows what a change in the components may do !! I LIKE that little sporting wad - makes the little loads fit nicely - kinda like the DR does for 16's . |
