The shells you have are fine, if the 4's pattern well in your gun.
If you "must" have 5's, I've had great luck with the Wing Shot line, and they come in 5's.

tested load : chedd / chedd ... dr wad OP section only with 1/4" fiber filler ... 13/8 lead (600 grns ) 25 grns Blue Dot - can go to 27 ... 1210 fps , 9800 psi ... insure shoulder B4 trying !! use freezer paper shot protector if wanted .

Anyone try a 1 oz lead load using a PT80 wad? Seems like that would pattern very tight.

Back in 2014, I loaded a few of the BPI 1 1/4 oz (not 1 oz) loads in the PT80 wad. I tried to pattern them in several shot sizes for a turkey load.

My notes indicate two things:

1. They patterned poorly.

2. The recoil was excessive.

The PT80 wad has no cushion section. That may explain one or both of the above observations.
