I have two Lefever H Grade guns. One 20 ga. and one 16.ga I love em both. I recently noted that the 16 ga has a Feature(?) I hadn't encountered before or maybe something has gone wrong. I don;t know.

When firing the left barrel first the safety is engaged and has to be taken off before the right barrel can be fired. I have tried using the thumb to hold the safety in the off position but this doesn't seem to work, at least with out using more pressure than may be a good idea. This isn't a problem (or feature with the 20 ga.) The 16 is older by 2 years. manufacture dates are shown as 1911 and 1913 if this is of any help.

Can anyone shed some light on this issue. If its a feature can it be removed or turned off or is something broken?

Thanks

Joe

I am guessing that the "ramp" spring that locates the safety slide is out of proper location/ adjustment and thus is actually pulling the safety slide forward. If so, it should be easy to fix. If you have the skills to properly dismantle the gun, go for it. If not, a competent gunsmith should be able to take care of it without much effort.

Ok, we all agree something is broke. Is there a written procedure for disassembly somewhere. Never had any of my Lefevers apart and would like a little instruction or directions.

An exploded drawing would be nice as well. I checked the levefer sites and didn;t really find anything.

Thanks

Joe.
