No old ones in my collection, just one of each basic style in 16 gauge. Waiting for my Dickenson Custom Shop 16 Gauge SxS

Thinning out can be a good thing.

At one time I was at 38 long Guns then I sold down and traded to a low of four while upgrading the overall quality of my battery. Using the sale and trade of lower grade guns has enabled me to amass some very good guns.

Secondly looking for Guns with minor correctable issues that lower their collector value enabled me to get some very nice hunting guns.

[quote="fin2feather"]16's - 5
12's - 3
20's - 3

12 + 20 = 32 / 2 = 16

So 3 12s + 3 20s = 6 16s

Right?

This got me counting. I think the odds are good I may have missed one or two.

17 - 16's
20 - 12's
13 - 20's
5 -10's

35 are SXS's.
7 are O/U's
6 are pumps
5 are semi's
1 Bolt
1 Single

I think I may have a problem.

Two Husky hammer 16's and a recently acquired Winchester 1200 pump 16 from a friend for $75, choked ic, so I can teach my nephew how to shoot skeet. It's the first clackety clack I've owned in years. Might make a good boat gun too.

Right?

Sure.

You need to elaborate a bit more. So far, I'm not seeing the problem.

I'm at a low ebb these days.

5 16 gauge
10 12 gauge

Have sold 3 16's and 3 12's in the last couple years. A little safe rationalization. Now I'm getting ready to add 1 or 2 more 16's back.

I find it harder to buy these days than I used to. I know more and am much more discriminating about what I'm buying. Not that it has to be a best gun but just much clearer about what I want for myself. So I'm looking at as many as I used to, but fewer of them fool me with their siren call.

I think I have the numbers right.

1-10 Ga
5-12 ga
7-16 ga
1-20 Ga

Sold a couple of 12's and a 16 last year, and am always looking to add something interesting to the stable.
