Very nice day, although a little warm for my taste. I spotted a covey 10 minutes into the hunt. They ran straight uphill into brush so thick, even the dog wouldn't have gotten through. They were gone before he even caught wind of them. No way to get uphill and cut them off.
Found a guzzler and hunted that area pretty hard, not a single bird. Went back to another area that usually holds coveys and immediately saw a fox hit the hill ahead of me and dissappear. Not aware of any quail brave enough to hang around with a fox, so I called it a day. Still had a great time and the dog got a good workout. Worst day hunting is still better than the best day working! |

Gotta love the dog! Pudelpointers are known to be sharp(killing vermen)mine attempts to kill every fox he finds. Only ever caught one youngster. |

Damm that dog is almost as ugly as TJC's girls, and my buddies Spinonies, but still a heap better lookin than Rev's kat/dog
Just funnin ya, your pup would have to have 3 legs and have mange to be as ugly as Tjc's girls |

distinguished! any living being with a moostache like that is "distinguished"
rigt now Im having a big case of dog envy
If I had my choice I'd get a Nova Scotia Duck Toller for a lot of personal reasons...
I'm a duck gut from the time I watched my Dad break down the A-5 at the kitchen table - "now you gotta put the rings down on the newspaper the same way they go on the tube..." 5 years old and memorizing every move...
good hunting and scratch the pootch extra at the end of the day. |

Since I have been on vacation for a month, my "moostache"/beard and that of my dog are nearly indistinguishable. Not sure if I look distinguished though, at least he does.....
Dave, good luck and have a great hunt, you already know I envy your snow. |

huns, now listen here. My Girls and I resemble that remark. I sure hope that piece of liberal Slab you have can take a beatin cause I'm turning Reba loose on him when he comes down.
Birdswatter,
I just started my Vac this past week. I'm working on the stache and chin whiskers. They'll be just getting nice by the end of Dec and it will be time to go back to work and off they will come. |

TJC.....I understand, I will be shaving in a couple days to head back to work.
The Jaeger-dawg has been following the thread....got a little pissed, doesn't see the resemblence, and wants to know why everyone is talking about his 'stache/beard when he can't type to defend himself!

No offense, but the dog has a prettier smile than the owner. By the way, all the hair on my head is now on the bottom too. |

BS,
People with clean shaven dogs can't understand the ones with hair.
Mine aren't PP's but Drahthaars. Either way, full beards, looong eye lashes and hairy legs. |

Tjc, biggest problem with the girls, is thier so ugly , you never know which way they are pointing, so you've got to be ready for the bird to come up from either end....................... |
