Thanks to everyone for their comments about the 1894 Remington. Great responses and appreciated. I have seen the 12ga. on Guns Internaational only wish it had orginal butt plate. Please let me know if you find something new. Great pics of over my budget.

I would think a 16 gauge Remington 1894 in any grade higher than A or B would be extremely hard to find. Only about 41,000 1894s were made and the overwhelming majority were lower grade 12 gauge guns. I doubt if more than 10 or 15 percent of the total production was in 16 gauge.

I've been looking for a low-grade Remington hammerless double for over six months now with little success.

Tahnks for seeing my post and responding. Yea, it is a real challenge in trying to find one in any condition. Someone will see one and, hopefully, let me know. Best to you.

Jack,

Are you looking for a 16ga Remington? If not, I have a 12ga Rem 1900 KED I've been going back and forth on selling.

If I remember my Semmer correctly, 10ga was the lowest production in the 1894s. I've had a 32" 10ga BE grade 1894 waiting to be restocked for some time now. Hopefully I'll get around to it in the next decade! Late production gun with an anomaly- it has Etoile 3 BP barrels normally only seen on C grades and higher.

Marcus

Marcus, thanks, but it's a 16-gauge Remington double (any model) I'm looking for. I have several Models 1889, 1894 and 1900 in 12 gauge, but none in 16 gauge. And I have a Model 1885 in 10 gauge.

While I haven't seen any exact figures, it seems to me that Remington didn't make many of their doubles in 16 gauge.

I assumed you were looking for a 16ga but thought I'd ask, Jack. Best of luck to both you and Jim in your search for Remingtons.

PS- Hope you're putting that Model 12 to good use Jack.

Jaqua's Fine Guns has several 1894's all 12 gauges. One is a 2 barrel set.
