Has anyone used these Italian made shells? My club lost their lease and are liquidating everything and they had a few flats of these. 7 1/2 shot, red in color, high brass, and the markings on the head show they're Cheddites. In looking up their website, it appears they're 1 1/8 oz. Box isn't very helpful, as it's all European info. They sold them to me for $65.00 a flat. Will go back for more if there's good feedback - will shoot some on Friday in my 525 Sporting. Should be able to reload, as they're Cheddites. Thanks for any responses.

In 12 Gauge they are Cheddite hulls.

I wouldn't get too picky. Whatever hull they are will be reloadable.

I have read very good reports on 12 ga. However I've been trying to get some 16's. Where was your club buying them if you don't mind telling .

Hi, Bill. I believe that they were purchasing them from a distributor in Oklahoma - Gene Sears. I looked into it, and they may be the only distributor in the U.S. I'm heading out there this AM to shoot some clays with them and will see how they shoot.

Shells'r'Us in Wisconsin also carries the Clever brand (as well as Caledonian and a couple other Euro products), so they might have more info on them.

I used some 16 ga Clever Mirage loads a couple years ago. These were 1-1/16 ounce #5 hunting loads which seemed very hot. I never patterned them but killed wild pheasant.

Used 'em in my 525 Sporting the other day for a round of SC. Had the best round I've had in months. They were a little hot, but if I did my part turned the birds into dust. Ended up picking up the last 2 flats they had.
